Farmhouse kitchen/diner:

In the roomy farmhouse kitchen, equipped with most major and minor electrical appliances, you are quite likely to find all the weird and wonderful cooking utensils and gadgets associated with a typical French household.  Thoughtfully included is a range of cookbooks with which you can try out both your French
and your hand using the superb ingredients waiting to be found in our local markets.

Farmhouse kitchen

In the various pine cupboards of the kitchen you will find all manner of  cookware, crockery, cutlery and glassware for at least 12.
There is a full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, gas cooker plus an electric oven and microwave along with a range of other small electrical kitchen appliances.  Should something have been missed you have only to ask us for it.  When at home we are always accessible to you and happy to help.

In keeping with a tradition close to every Frenchman’s heart is the pleasure of a leisurely meal 'en famille' around the kitchen table.  Which is precisely why you will find here one of the 2 dining tables we provided inside the cottage where you and yours can gather to enjoy your meals together.

Bedroom Arrangements:

All 3 bedrooms are located on the first floor and are independently accessed off a long hallway
reached from the  central staircase.

This spacious hallway is furnished at one end with a comfy sofa and a small

the English board games and puzzles suitable for kids of all ages.

At the other end of the hallway is another cozy nook where you can

baby's cot.  This room can be used either as a double or as a family room sleeping up to 4.  In addition

Lagrange is enclosed in over half an acre of beautifully tended private garden carefully laid out to offer quiet corners as well as dedicated activity areas.  It is equipped  with a BBQ, and furnished with sun beds and garden furniture for outdoor dining as well as various sport and game activities to keep the kids amused while the grownups sit back and enjoy some uninterrupted ME time.

Table tennis and a baby football table, badminton & croquet offer hours of family fun.
The garden is totally
secured with child safety in mind and also provides off road parking  for
up to 3 cars on it's graveled drive.

Located at the heart of the Authie Valley close to the river and the picture perfect, Le Moulin de Maintenay flour mill with its ever popular creperie.  If you go for tea on a warm summer's day be sure to arrive in plenty of time to get a seat outside on the terrace overlooking the water wheel and river.  Its simply heavenly.

Within walking distance are 2 more local restaurants and bars always popular with our guests.  Please ask us for the latest information on local bars and restaurants as owners and reputations are prone to change.  We are an Anglo/French couple who enjoy eating out ourselves often and are more than happy to steer you in the best directions.

In the neighbouring village of Argoules is the famous Abbaye de Valloires (with its own restaurant) and stunning formally laid out gardens – a must see attraction for every visitor to this region!

Abbaye de Valloires

The sandy, dune backed beaches of the Opale coast are just a 15 minute drive away with Fort Mahon
and Quend plage singled out for their natural beauty.  The smart seaside resort of Le Touquet-Paris Plage, well known for it's cosmopolitan atmosphere, gourmet restaurants, cafes and it's wide sandy beach with built in swimming complex (Aqualud) is just a further 10 minute drive.

                                                                          Le Touquet - Paris Plage

Equally stunning is the Le Touquet golf course but there are no less than two other 18 hole golf courses less than a mile from the cottage making it an ideal location for both golfers and their widows alike. Every effort is made by us to anticipate all your needs and to ensure that you have the relaxing, care-free holiday you came for – down to providing buckets & spades for the kids and even a windbreaker to take to the beach should you need it!

The fortified, medieval towns of Montreuil sur Mer and St Valery along with the quaint old fishing port of Le Crotoy are renown for the locally caught seafood.  Their many good restaurants offer a wide and varied choice for an evening meal and are only a short drive away.

The dinky port of Le Crotoy on the Baie de Somme

Just a little further down the coast on the border of Haute-Normandie is the charming old seaside
town of Le Treport.  With a fantastic choice of at least 20 fish restaurants lining the seafront (all competing for your custom at very competitive prices) a good 3 course meal can be had for no more
than 12E.  What else could be asked for an enjoyable Sunday lunch day out?

Closer to home there are of course the daily street markets -, a different one for every day, and the simply irresistible fish hangers at Etaples always there to tempt you with mounds of shellfish and a selection  of freshly caught fish so vast you may think it a trick of the eye.  Truly a holiday eating milestone in the making!

To sum it up

Lagrange is a perfectly charming family cottage with loads of character and lots of modern day conveniences set in a large, well equipped garden. It is located on the edge of a peaceful country village which is less than 15 minutes from major shopping, beaches and well known attractions - in short we feel it offers the very essence of why you chose to holiday in France this year.
